Founded in 2012, Rockwell Interiors has become synonymous with elevated, deeply considered interiors throughout Southern California. Distinguished by a refined aesthetic and architectural approach, the studio creates bespoke environments that are timeless, layered, and unmistakably personal.

Under the direction of founder and creative director Christie May, Rockwell Interiors brings more than two decades of experience spanning luxury residential and boutique hospitality design. A San Diego native, Christie is known for her discerning eye, intuitive understanding of space, and ability to craft interiors that feel both effortlessly sophisticated and richly lived in.

Every Rockwell project begins with a singular vision. Rather than repeating formulas or trends, the studio approaches each home and hospitality space as a unique narrative — informed by its architecture, surroundings, and the lifestyle of those who inhabit it. The result is a portfolio of distinctive interiors that feel curated, collected, and enduring.

Rockwell Interiors is a full-service design studio specializing in ground-up residences, transformative renovations, and comprehensive furnishing and styling. Working in close collaboration with architects, builders, and artisans, the team thoughtfully oversees every layer of the design process — from spatial planning and architectural detailing to custom millwork, furnishings, textiles, finishes, and bespoke elements tailored specifically to each project.

With a strong foundation in architectural space planning, the studio is known for creating interiors that balance beauty with intentionality. Every detail is carefully considered to ensure each space not only functions seamlessly, but evokes a lasting sense of warmth, sophistication, and ease.

Christie May

Principal Interior Designer

Principal Interior Designer and Creative Director, Christie May, started Rockwell Interiors with immense passion and intent to design unique and memorable spaces that stand apart and last. She was born a creative artist with a natural ability to design spaces that are both equally functional as they are beautiful. She received her BA in Interior Design from San Diego State University and has over 20 years of industry experience.

Published in many magazines and awarded for design excellence, she leads all projects with strong creativity + passion, excellent client relations and a solution-minded approach. With her experience, love for interiors + architecture, and support from her talented team, Rockwell Interiors takes on large-scale projects and seamlessly executes them in a professional manner, from start to finish. She prides their work as being highly creative, unique one-of-a-kind spaces. Her taste is clean and modern, sophisticated but fun and always unique. She finds inspiration in all things created by Mother Nature, exploring through Europe and exotic destinations, and the works of talented design greats both past and present.
